Sins of the Mother: a movie based on the novel Orange Mint and Honey

The Lifetime Movie Network’s adaptation of Carleen Brice’s amazing novel will air this Sunday 2/21/10 at 8:00 pm. The book was amazing! Here’s what I wrote in my Shelfari review after reading it:

“This was an amazing tale of forgiveness and personal growth. From the first page, Shay jumped of the page at me and the powerful prose refused to let me go. I laughed out loud, felt extreme sadness, and had moments of deep thought and contemplation as I read this novel. The relationship between black mothers and daughters is such fertile ground for amazing story telling and Carleen Brice has given us a winner with Orange Mint and Honey. The characterization is crisp. The voice is powerful. And this novel is a must read. I plan to read it again and again. It’s a keeper.”

Even though I have a love hate relationship with Jill Scott, the trailer for the movie looks like they’re going to do this amazing story some justice in Sins of the Mother. Here’s the trailer:

Be sure to watch and support Black literature and film!

LOL. Conseula, I love the idea of a Jill Scott. And I have wanted to love her music, but for some reason she irks me… LOL. She is starting to grow on me though. I hated her first CD. But she almost won me over with “Running Across My Mind” and “Golden.”
