Throwback Thursday: Ceybil Jefferies/Sweet Sable

I figured I throw out a Throwback Thursday for old times sake. Today’s throwback is an artist who actually went by two different names. (Hey… sort of like me… LOL)

She did house/club music as Ceybil Jefferies…

And she did a hip-hop soul/R&B as Sweet Sable…

Her Sweet Sable CD, Old Times’ Sake, will always be a classic, in my opinion. It’s one of those CDs that you can play each and every track without skipping. The funny thing is I actually loved her club song “Love So Special” and had no idea that she was the same woman who made one of my all time favorite hip-hop soul CDs. She certainly is talented and I wish she’d come out with something else. I guess it’s hard to top a classic and the Old Times’ Sake CD was certainly a classic. So, are you familiar with her work as either Ceybil Jefferies or Sweet Sable? Any other artists that you can think of who only released one or two good albums and then disappeared? Who do you want to see make a comeback? Check out my favorite club song from her, “Love So Special” and my favorite hip-hop soul song from her, “Old Times’ Sake,” below…

“Love So Special,” Ceybil Jefferies

“Old Times’ Sake,” Sweet Sable

Hi! I tried to post on ChickLitGurl’s blog, but it wouldn’t go through. Good interview.

Ahhh, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pick a favorite Hightower brother.

A lot of people said they couldn’t get through. I couldn’t either. And sure you can pick a favorite Hightower brother… LOL. Lawrence is my favorite…. ;-)
